We’re 18 tonight, 4 courts from 7 to 9, levels pretty mixed. What would you run?

What it handles for you

Last-minute chaos, one sentence.
Dropouts, swaps, late arrivals: say it in plain words. It’s handled, and undo if you got it wrong.
Fair americano and mexicano.
Partners rotate every round, opponents spread across the field, and repeats happen only when the numbers force them. Computed, not eyeballed at the net post.
Levels for a fairer draw.
Levels are optional, and any scale works. Rate the players you’re sure about; anyone you skip counts as an average player, never the weakest.
Mixed nights, like against like.
An americano matches like against like wherever the field allows: two men against two men, a mixed pair against a mixed pair.
Honest scores.
Walkovers and retirements go in as exactly that. The games people actually played still count towards the standings.
One link is all a player needs.
It gives them the order of play, live standings and self-signup, and it stays right all evening.
Print and go.
Order-of-play and results PDFs sized for the clubhouse noticeboard, for when the wifi in the hall gives up.
The formats clubs actually run.
Americano, mexicano, round robin, groups + playoff, knockout with a 3rd-place match — singles or fixed pairs. Don’t know which fits? Say what you have and it suggests one, or read every format explained.

WHY WE BUILT IT

We’re the ones running the Thursday evening session.

Recreational tennis and padel, week after week, courts booked, 24 people who want a good game — and the organiser usually playing in it too.

The tennis is the easy part. Making the tennis fun is the work: pairing people so nobody gets flattened 6–0, keeping every court busy, making sure the same two friends don’t play each other all night.

We did it on paper, then a group chat, then a spreadsheet with formulas we didn’t really trust. It was hard work every single week, and it worked — until forty minutes before the first serve, when two players drop out, someone brings a colleague, and the whole draw has to be rebuilt by hand while everyone stands around with a racket asking which court they’re on.

That’s the moment Turnale is built for. You say what changed, in a sentence, the way you’d say it to a friend — and the draw, the courts and the standings sort themselves out before anyone finishes warming up.
